John’s career has covered most aspects of retailing both in the U.K. and Australia. Store Management, Buying, Buying Management and General Management. John was General Manager – Merchandise for the Angus & Coote Jewellery chain responsible for the buying, manufacturing and marketing functions. He was the National non-food buying controller for Woolworths Ltd heading a team of 50 buying professionals plus support staff. He has huge business experience in both local and international markets and is a trained negotiator. Part of the executive team that introduced Strategic Planning into Woolworths John is a multi- skilled executive with an impressive list of achievements.
John is also an experienced programmer and uses Microsoft Visual Studio to create the OzBiz range of programs.
John Gibson has over 30 years of retail management experience, working for National companies including Woolworths, as well as in the independent Supermarket industry. John has been an Accredited QuickBooks, Quicken and QuickPOS trainer and has worked extensively with small business since the introduction of GST. He has a comprehensive understanding of computerised accounting programs, and a unique ability to ‘think outside the square’ when it comes to creating dynamic integration solutions.
