About the client

Bendigo Medical was established in the 1940s, and remains owned and operated by local General Practitioners. The practice has grown into one of the largest in the region, with three fully integrated sites in Bridge Street in Bendigo, Howard Street in Epsom and Neale Street in Flora Hill.

The problems experienced by the client

With a growing Practice in three locations, the tasks of paying the Doctors, accounting data entry and bank reconciliations grew to over half their time for two staff members every day. The complexity of the task, along with the sheer volume of data was making the task increasingly more difficult. There was also the risk of human error getting something wrong – causing more time to be taken to find and rectify the issue. In this age of technology, they knew there had to be a better way.

OzBiz Easylink has been a fantastic time saving tool and the accuracy means that the there are no mistakes made in data entry. We have been using OzBiz for over 4 years and to be honest I cannot imagine how we would manage without it today.

The results

The time required to get data from Best Practice, reconcile the billings and receipts and import the data into MYOB is now less than half what it was taking when the Practice was much smaller. As well, the accuracy of the import process means that there are now no mistakes in data entry. Bank reconciliations have become easier as the information imported from Best Practice reflects what has been received into the bank, and any amounts that do not match are easily found and addressed.

The programme has allowed him to maintain his accounting totally up to date every day, but without the enormous amount of staff hours it used to require. Stephen says he could never want to go back to doing it manually and that he doesn’t like to even think about what it was like before OzBiz.
